This Hemel Hempstead based school assists students with complex and severe special education needs starting at age six. They are currently seeking a talented, understanding, and experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to collaborate with their senior team of experts in order to give all of their students the best possible learning and development opportunities. This is a long term role available to start ASAP!
Job Responsibility:
Work on a 1:1 or small group basis with children who have Special Educational Needs
Lesson/work planning for the students you are working with
Utilise learning schemes in order to progress your student's learning
Report back to parents and teachers regarding the students progress
Supporting children's physical, social and emotional well-being
Completion of daily records for pupils
Classroom preparation for the following school day
Requirements:
Experience working with SEN pupils
Managing challenging behaviour and supporting the class teacher
Ability to assist teachers and other staff to create a positive learning environment for children with social, emotional and mental health needs
Understanding of autism
2 professional references to reference your recent work with SEN children
Strong work ethic and positive attitude
Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to make one
Eligibility to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available with this role)
