Job Description:

Oasis Academy Mayfield currently have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated practitioner to join the team as a Qualified Teaching Assistant, supporting teaching staff with responsibility for the development and educational provision of learners. We are looking for a committed and energetic person to assist and support students with learning and behaviour needs to work within our SEN team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a high performing team who share a passionate commitment to securing the best possible life chances for our young people.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assisting with planning, preparation and delivery of lesson provision, both on a whole-class and individual basis
  • Preparing resources to support learning activities
  • Ensuring pupils are supported pastorally
  • Contributing to evaluating student progress and provide feedback to the class teacher to ensure all students’ learning needs are being met
  • Supporting teaching staff with responsibility for the development and educational provision of learners
  • Assisting and supporting students with learning and behaviour needs to work within our SEN team

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 GCSEs at grade A* - C / 9 - 4, including English and Maths
  • NVQ / VRQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or equivalent
  • Considerable experience of class supervision and assisting with lesson provision to achieve positive learning outcomes
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in tandem with teaching staff
  • Ability to be empathetic and understanding to the needs of students
  • Knowledge of Every Child Matters, effective protection and safeguarding practice, SEND Code of Practice
  • Motivation to work with children and young people and their families
