Job Description:

Birchwood Community High School is a thriving school at the heart of community life and continues to grow and flourish. We have a vacancy to join our Designated Provision for children with ASD. This is a fixed term contract until 31 August 2026 in the first instance, working 31.25 hours per week , term time only plus Inset days.

Requirements:

  • Ideally have experience of working with children in an educational setting
  • Desirable to have some experience of working with children with special educational needs/ASD
  • Have experience of or be willing to implement interventions and strategies to overcome barriers to learning
  • Support children who can display challenging behaviour
  • Be a team player with a good sense of humour
  • Have a sensitive but enthusiastic approach
  • Be willing to undertake first aid training and Team Teach training
