Job Description

A friendly and well-established 2-form entry infant and primary school in Horsham is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their Key Stage 1 team, supporting pupils in Reception and Year 1. This is a nurturing, child-centred school with a strong emphasis on early learning, phonics, language development and positive routines. Staff work closely together and new team members are warmly supported and welcomed into the school community.

Job Responsibility

  • Supporting pupils within Reception and Year 1 classrooms
  • Assisting with phonics, early reading, writing and number work
  • Providing support during carpet time, group work and play-based learning
  • Helping children develop confidence, independence and social skills
  • Working collaboratively with class teachers and Early Years staff

Requirements

  • Experience (or a strong interest) in EYFS or KS1
  • Kind, patient and enthusiastic
  • Enjoys supporting young children both academically and emotionally
  • Works well as part of a close-knit, supportive team
  • Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services
