Job Description:

The Portsmouth Academy is seeking to appoint a compassionate, resilient and motivated Inclusion Teaching Assistant to join The Bridge, our specialist Inclusion Centre. This is a rewarding opportunity to work as part of a dedicated and supportive team, helping students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. The Bridge is a specialist provision supporting students aged 11-16 with complex Cognition and Learning difficulties. Our approach is child-centred, recognising each student as an individual and tailoring learning to their starting points, strengths and next steps. You will be joining a team that is passionate about inclusion, high expectations and positive outcomes for every young person.

Requirements:

  • Experience in working with young people to support their mental and physical wellbeing
  • A confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills
  • Educated to a minimum Grade 4/C (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
  • Highly motivated, energetic and reflective with a passion for helping students and building positive relationships with both students and parents/carers
