Job Description:

We are seeking dedicated ASC Specialists to work within local Special Schools and Resource Provisions. This role is for those who understand that for a student with Autism, a 'breakthrough' might be a successful transition between lessons, a new word, or a calm afternoon in a sensory room.

Job Responsibility:

  • Promoting predictability using visual schedules
  • Supporting interventions 1:1 to deliver personalised learning tasks
  • Managing meltdowns with empathy
  • Social coaching to facilitate structured play or social interactions

Requirements:

  • Naturally observant
  • Relevant experience with Autism (either professionally or personally), or knowledge of TEACCH or ABA principles
  • Resilient and kind
  • Committed
  • holds an enhanced DBS on the update service (or is willing to apply)
  • 100% dedicated to Safeguarding

Nice to have:

Experience with PECS, Makaton, and Visual Timetables
