Job Description

Teaching Assistant | Autism (ASC) Specialist | Local Specialist Schools. Position: Full-Time, Long-Term (Term Time Only). Salary: £90 - £95 per day (Weekly Pay - dependent on experience). Start Date: Immediate / Next Term. Are you a patient, perceptive individual with a passion for neurodiversity? Join our specialist network as an Autism Support Assistant and help children with ASC navigate their school day with confidence, comfort, and success. Unlocking Potential: Support Beyond the Standard Classroom. We are seeking dedicated ASC Specialists to work within local Special Schools and Resource Provisions. This role is for those who understand that for a student with Autism, a 'breakthrough' might be a successful transition between lessons, a new word, or a calm afternoon in a sensory room. Sensory-First Approach: Help manage the environment to reduce sensory overload, ensuring students feel safe and ready to learn. Specialised Communication: Gain or use experience with PECS, Makaton, and Visual Timetables to facilitate meaningful interaction. Career Growth: Build a CV that is highly attractive for future roles in Clinical Psychology, SEN Teaching, or Occupational Therapy. Weekly Pay: Competitive daily rates of £90 - £95, paid every Friday via Randstad. Your Role as an ASC Champion. As an Autism Support Assistant, you are the student's guide to the social and academic world, providing the scaffolding they need to thrive.
