Job Responsibility

  • Promoting Predictability - use visual schedules and 'now and next' boards to reduce anxiety and help students manage transitions between activities
  • Supportive Interventions - work 1:1 to deliver personalised learning tasks that align with the student's specific interests and EHCP goals
  • Managing 'Meltdowns' with Empathy - recognise early signs of sensory or emotional deregulation and implement calming strategies or 'masking' breaks before a crisis occurs
  • Social Coaching - facilitate structured play or social interactions, helping students develop tools to build friendships and work alongside peers

Requirements

  • Naturally Observant
  • Relevant Experience with Autism (either professionally or personally), or knowledge of TEACCH or ABA principles
  • Resilient & Kind
  • Committed - hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply) and 100% dedicated to Safeguarding
