We are seeking dedicated ASC Specialists to work within local Special Schools and Resource Provisions. This role is for those who understand that for a student with Autism, a 'breakthrough' might be a successful transition between lessons, a new word, or a calm afternoon in a sensory room.
Job Responsibility
Promoting Predictability using visual schedules and now and next boards
Supportive Interventions working 1:1 to deliver personalised learning tasks
Managing Meltdowns with Empathy by recognising early signs of sensory or emotional deregulation
Social Coaching to facilitate structured play or social interactions
Requirements
Naturally Observant
Relevant Experience with Autism (either professionally or personally), or knowledge of TEACCH or ABA principles
Resilient & Kind
Committed - holds an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply) and dedicated to Safeguarding
Nice to have
Experience with Autism (either professionally or personally)
