Job Description:

We are looking for a supportive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a SEMH specialist school in Worthing. This role involves supporting post-16 pupils, including those with autism and ADHD, working closely with the teacher in Maths, English, and Child Development. You will provide 1:1 and small group support to help students engage with learning and develop their skills in a structured, nurturing environment. This role does not involve significant behaviour management.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supporting post-16 pupils with SEMH needs in the classroom
  • Working 1:1 and in small groups to support learning and engagement
  • Assisting the teacher in Maths, English, and Child Development lessons
  • Supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing and independence
  • Following school policies and safeguarding procedures

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, or additional needs
  • Calm, patient, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to providing inclusive, structured support
