Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in Horsham. The role involves supporting students with ADHD in both 1:1 and small group settings, helping them to engage with learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support for students with ADHD
  • Support small groups in and out of the classroom
  • Assist students with focus, organisation, emotional regulation, and behaviour for learning
  • Work closely with teachers and the SEN team to implement support strategies
  • Monitor progress and contribute to review meetings where appropriate
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Requirements

  • Experience supporting children or young people with ADHD (in a school or similar setting)
  • A patient, calm, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (essential)
  • Ability to commit to 4 days per week, 8:30am–3:30pm

Nice to have

  • Previous experience in a secondary school setting
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support
