This is a full-time, position based in Leeds, requiring an immediate start (ASAP). The role involves teaching Science, specifically Physics up to Key Stage 5 (A-Level) and all three sciences across Key Stage 3 and 4, in a diverse and high-achieving academy. The appointed person will be an inspirational educator dedicated to securing outstanding outcomes for all students and contributing to a dynamic department focused on excellence.
Job Responsibility:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging Science lessons across all key stages, with a focus on Physics
Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students, utilising data to inform future planning
Maintain a positive, safe, and stimulating learning environment conducive to high academic standards and pupil welfare
Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of the departmental curriculum, resources, and schemes of work
Set and mark work, including homework, to encourage students and ensure that learning is both effective and appropriate
Manage student behaviour effectively in line with school policy, promoting respect and high expectations
Participate in professional development opportunities and wider school meetings, including parents' evenings
Undertake form tutor responsibilities, providing pastoral support and guidance to a cohort of students
Contribute to extracurricular activities and enrichment programmes, particularly in STEM subjects
Ensure effective and efficient deployment of classroom support staff where applicable
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Knowledge and understanding of the current national curriculum and assessment requirements for Science
Eligibility to work in the UK
