Job Description

Inspire the Next Generation: Teacher of Science. Location: Croydon & Orpington area (Outer London) Salary: £39,000 - £53,000 per annum (MPS-UPS Outer London) Plus: £1,500 Special Allowance + Performance & Loyalty Bonus + Generous Benefits Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent. Are you a dedicated and inspiring Science educator looking for a school that values teamwork just as much as academic excellence? We are seeking a highly motivated practitioner to join our committed team. If you bring a passion for discovery and a track record of driving up standards, we want to hear from you. Specialisms in Chemistry or Physics are advantageous, but not essential!

Job Responsibility

  • Facilitate a learning experience that gives every student the opportunity to achieve their full potential
  • Delivering a broad, balanced, and differentiated Science curriculum for Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Designing engaging lesson plans and cutting-edge resources to contribute to the department's growth
  • Monitoring and supporting the overall personal and academic progress of students as a dedicated Form Tutor
  • Actively participating in staff continuous professional development (CPD) and quality assurance to raise student attainment

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, paired with a relevant undergraduate degree
  • Successful teaching experience at the secondary level (teaching practice counts!), ideally within diverse, multi-ethnic urban school environments
  • A strong understanding of effective teaching theories, National Curriculum requirements, and student assessment
  • High expectations for all students, excellent time management, and a collaborative spirit
  • Excellent ICT skills (especially with interactive whiteboards) are highly valued
