Job Description

Are you an experienced Science Teacher looking for a guaranteed, full-term placement this autumn? We are working in partnership with the prestigious Harris City Academy Crystal Palace in Croydon to recruit a dedicated and resilient Teacher of Science. This is a full-time, term-long supply role covering the complete Autumn Term of 2026. Unlike unpredictable day-to-day supply work, this position offers you the stability of a fixed-term contract within a highly supportive and structured academy setting. You will become an integral part of the Science department, delivering high-quality lessons and helping students thrive from day one.

Job Responsibility

  • Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging Biology, Chemistry, and Physics lessons tailored to various learning abilities
  • Teaching a broad timetable spanning Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE), and Key Stage 5 (Sixth Form)
  • Maintaining high expectations of student behaviour and creating a focused, positive learning environment in line with the academy's behaviour policies
  • Marking work, tracking student progress, and ensuring that learning gaps are minimised

Requirements

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), QTLS, or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification
  • relevant degree in Science
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to process a new one)
