This is a full-time Science Teacher position starting ASAP. The role involves delivering high-quality, engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 involvement for the right candidate.This position is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity, allowing you to establish deep roots within a vibrant, multi-cultural secondary setting.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver Engaging Lessons: Plan and execute Science lessons that stimulate intellectual curiosity
Assessment & Feedback: Provide regular, constructive verbal and written feedback to guide student progress
Curriculum Development: Contribute to the design of an ambitious Science curriculum that revisits key concepts
Manage Misconceptions: Use tasks to identify and address student misunderstandings immediately
Behaviour Management: Maintain high expectations of behaviour using the school's established rewards and sanctions
Technology Integration: Utilise digital tools to enhance learning and accessibility
Data Analysis: Monitor student attainment data to identify and close learning gaps
Safeguarding: Actively promote the welfare and safety of all students in accordance with school policy
Parental Liaison: Communicate effectively with families regarding student achievement and well-being
Extracurricular Support: Contribute to the academy's enrichment program, such as STEM or ICT clubs
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
Strong references covering the last two years of employment
