Job Description:

Science Teacher | Long-Term & Temporary Roles | Croydon. Do you have the formula for academic success? Randstad Education is looking for dynamic, curious, and dedicated Science Teachers to join our talent pool for exciting opportunities within secondary schools across Croydon. Whether you are a specialist in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics, or a versatile General Science teacher, we have a range of long-term and flexible temporary positions starting immediately and for the new academic term.

Job Responsibility:

  • Plan and lead safe, engaging practical experiments and theoretical lessons that align with the National Curriculum
  • Differentiate work to ensure students of all abilities-including those with SEN and EAL-can access the wonders of Science
  • Use regular assessments to identify learning gaps and provide the scaffolding students need to excel in their exams
  • Maintain rigorous health and safety standards within the lab environment
  • Work alongside lab technicians and Teaching Assistants to ensure lessons run smoothly and effectively

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (ECTs are very welcome to apply)
  • A degree in a Science-related subject
  • Experience teaching Science in a UK secondary school setting
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
  • Strong classroom management skills and a passion for student-led learning

Nice to have:

  • KS5 experience
  • knowledge of A-level specification
  • SEN experience
  • sixth form experience
