We are looking to appoint a passionate, skilled and committed Teacher who can deliver high-quality Science teaching and support our pupils to re-engage with learning, build confidence and make progress. Working under the direction of the Executive Headteacher, you will help maintain a culture of excellence in learning and teaching, where every pupil is known, valued and supported. Our students are vulnerable young people with a range of needs, and they benefit from consistent relationships, strong routines and staff who remain calm, patient and relentless in their commitment to helping them thrive.
Job Responsibility:
Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, adapting learning to meet individual needs
Create a safe, consistent classroom environment and manage behaviour effectively
Identify gaps in prior learning and use assessment to plan next steps and targeted support
Work closely with colleagues, support staff and multi-agency professionals to provide a joined-up, holistic offer
Contribute to curriculum development and whole-school improvement
Support students' personal development, wellbeing and positive attitudes to learning
Build positive relationships with families and carers, working in partnership to support progress
Requirements:
Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject
Strong classroom practice, including planning and assessment
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 effectively (or the willingness to develop this)
A calm, consistent approach to behaviour and creating a safe learning environment
Ability to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of needs and close gaps in learning
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
A clear commitment to safeguarding and professional standards
Nice to have:
QTS/QTLS (or willingness to work towards QTS)
Experience in a SEN or specialist setting
