Job Responsibility

  • Deliver engaging and effective instruction in Portuguese language and literature, aligned with the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and other international curricula
  • Plan and execute dynamic lessons that cater to diverse learning needs, incorporating modern teaching strategies and technology
  • Monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments, ensuring high academic standards
  • Provide pastoral support, promoting student well-being and collaborating with the school’s well-being team
  • Encourage student involvement in extra-curricular activities, cultural events, and language-related projects
  • Contribute to curriculum development and school improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • A relevant degree in Portuguese Language, Literature, or related field, plus a valid teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Portuguese at the secondary level, ideally with knowledge of IB curriculum (IBDP) or other international programmes
  • Ability to inspire and engage students, fostering a love for language and culture
  • Strong skills in differentiating instruction for diverse learners
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
  • Experience using technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance learning
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and student welfare practices
