We are delighted to welcome applications from outstanding, dynamic and suitably experienced individuals for the role of Part-Time Teacher of PE, to be in post ready for the next academic year, starting September 2026. There is scope for this to be a full time role by combining non-academic duties. This is a superb opportunity for the right candidate to leverage their experience as a PE specialist in a high-performing school environment to contribute to the ongoing development of world-class PE provision at Wetherby Pembridge. Working closely with the Director of Sport, the successful candidate will have an exciting role in helping to develop an innovative, ambitious and comprehensive PE programme for this exciting next chapter in the Wetherby Pembridge journey.
Job Responsibility:
Teaching approximately a 50% timetable allocation of PE
Working closely with the Director of Sport, developing and implementing a world-class PE curriculum
Planning, preparing and delivering excellent lessons, including working with the Director of Sport and the SENDCo to ensure that PE and Games teaching at Wetherby Pembridge makes appropriate provision for candidates with additional needs
Promoting the study of PE throughout the school
Attending and contributing to regular departmental meetings
Contributing to and, where appropriate, leading on super-curricular provision within PE, and helping to foster a culture in which broad and regular super-curricular engagement is a routine aspect of student life
Liaising with the Head of Partnerships and Senior Leadership Team as appropriate to help develop and support Community Partnership opportunities
For the right candidate, opportunities may exist for additional responsibilities, e.g. contributing to pastoral oversight, etc.
Requirements:
PGCE, QTS or equivalent with strong academic credentials, including a minimum of a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university, and the right to work in the UK
Significant experience of delivering outstanding PE provision in a high-performing school environment
The ability to teach PE to A Level
The resilience, drive, strength of character and sense of both humour and perspective to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding and ambitious environment
