Job Description:

We welcome applications for this teaching post from experienced and Early Career Teachers to commence August 2026. LUSoM is a wonderful place to work, and this is an exciting opportunity for a teacher, with the ability to enthuse and innovate, to join our friendly and well established Mathematics department.

Job Responsibility:

  • Delivery of a high quality and enriching mathematics curriculum
  • Ensuring the academic progress of students
  • Promoting the subject more widely and encouraging the pursuit of university degrees and careers related to mathematics
  • Supporting higher education applications
  • Involvement with outreach work, inspiring students across the county to study mathematics at an advanced level

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree and teaching qualification
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of skill in the management of learning with a commitment to a student-centred approach
  • Awareness and understanding of current developments in the subject area
  • Ability to manage student progress and achievement
  • High level of organisational and administrative skills
  • Ability to set and achieve high standards for yourself, colleagues, and students
  • Values, attitudes, and behaviours consistent with the school ethos
  • Commitment to equality/diversity and the safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults
