Job Description:

Temporary Teacher of Health, Social Care and Early Years. The post is fixed term for one year to cover a period of maternity leave, to commence August 2026. The successful candidate will become part of a dynamic, supportive and aspirational vocational department.

Job Responsibility:

  • Contribute fully to the mission and values statement of the College
  • Plan, prepare and deliver high quality lessons
  • Set and mark work in accordance with College and department Assessment policy
  • Provide pastoral care and support for students
  • Encourage high standards of behaviour, attendance, and engagement
  • Ensure safeguarding concerns are identified and referred
  • Develop rapport with individuals and whole groups
  • Liaise with the Head of Department in contributing to administration
  • Attend and contribute to team, full staff and other relevant meetings
  • Teach in other departments where required
  • Communicate and consult with parents, carers, students

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree
  • Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of skill in the management of learning with a commitment to a student-centred approach
  • Awareness and understanding of current developments in the subject area
  • Ability to manage student progress and achievement
  • High level of organisational and administrative skills
  • Ability to set and achieve high standards
  • Values, attitudes, and behaviours consistent with the Catholic Ethos of the College
