We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly effective Teacher of Global Politics (IBDP) and History to join us in the next academic year. The successful candidate will introduce Global Politics to our founding cohort of IB students in September 2026, and join a highly successful History department within the Humanities family at King's. You will deliver engaging lessons that foster critical thinking, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of history, politics, and global issues. Job Responsibility:
Deliver well-planned and inspiring IBDP Global Politics lessons, alongside Key Stage 3 and iGCSE History lessons, aligned with curriculum and whole-school academic expectations
Foster analytical thinking, historical inquiry, research skills, and a deep understanding of political, social, and global issues
Prepare students effectively for internal and external assessments, including IBDP, iGCSE, and Key Stage 3 requirements
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress with accuracy and consistency, maintaining high academic standards
Contribute to curriculum development and the ongoing improvement of schemes of work, resources, and assessment practices
Support and collaborate with colleagues within the Humanities faculty, promoting strong pedagogy and continual professional growth
Ensure inclusive teaching strategies that support students of all abilities, including those with diverse learning needs
Enhance the Humanities co-curricular programme through clubs, societies, competitions, and enrichment opportunities
Contribute to the pastoral care of students and promote wellbeing, resilience, and a passion for understanding history and global politics
Requirements:
A recognized teaching qualification and a degree in History, Politics, Global Politics, or a closely related discipline
Experience teaching Global Politics at IBDP, alongside Key Stage 3 History/Humanities and iGCSE History
Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring students to understand history, politics, and global issues
Outstanding organizational, communication, and classroom-management skills
A reflective, innovative mindset with a commitment to continuous professional development
Experience in an international school environment or with international curricula (highly desirable)
