Job Description

This role delivers Cambridge Global Perspectives across Upper Primary to IGCSE, using adaptive teaching and structured feedback to drive student progress. The teacher leads global citizenship initiatives, prepares students for all Cambridge assessment components, and collaborates across departments. The ideal candidate holds a Humanities degree with proven Cambridge IGCSE experience, native English fluency, and cultural intelligence to thrive in a trilingual, internationally minded school.

Job Responsibility

  • Plan and deliver engaging, conceptually demanding Cambridge Global Perspectives lessons across Upper Primary, Lower Secondary, and IGCSE, embedding structured 'Do Now' tasks to maximise learning time
  • Apply adaptive teaching methods to ensure all students are appropriately challenged and can confidently access complex global themes
  • Lead global citizenship initiatives such as MUN, debate clubs, or community action projects, actively embedding the Inspired Education 'Three Pillars' framework into the wider student experience
  • Manage and maintain departmental resources, ensuring access to diverse, contemporary, and reliable academic sources
  • Monitor progress through rigorous formative and summative assessments aligned to Cambridge standards, implementing EBI/DIRT feedback protocols to promote a growth mindset
  • Provide detailed, actionable feedback to students and parents through consultations and formal reports, while comprehensively preparing students for Cambridge Team Projects, Individual Reports, and written examinations

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in International Relations, History, Geography, Politics, or a closely related Humanities discipline
  • A PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification is highly desirable
  • Proven experience teaching Global Perspectives or a similar research-based discipline in a secondary school setting
  • Experience delivering content and managing coursework for Cambridge IGCSE is essential
  • Deep, specialised familiarity with the Cambridge International Global Perspectives framework, including its unique assessment rubrics and skills-based objectives
  • Native-level fluency in English is essential, with highly developed academic writing and speaking skills
  • Proficiency in French or Arabic is beneficial
  • Exceptional facilitation skills, with the ability to guide students through the research process, source evaluation, and the synthesis of multiple cross-cultural viewpoints
  • Adaptability: The capacity to transition smoothly between teaching foundational research skills in Upper Primary to guiding advanced, independent academic research at IGCSE Level
