Job Description:

Role of Teacher of English at Wetherby Pembridge, a new co-educational senior school in Olympia, London, part of the Inspired Education Group. The role involves contributing to the development of world-class English provision, starting from September 2026.

Job Responsibility:

  • Teaching a full timetable allocation of English
  • working closely with the Founding Head of English, helping to develop and implement a world-class English curriculum
  • planning, preparing and delivering excellent lessons, including working with the Head of English and the SENDCo to ensure that English teaching makes appropriate provision for candidates with additional needs
  • promoting the study of English throughout the school
  • attending and contributing to regular departmental meetings
  • contributing to super-curricular provision within English, and helping to foster a culture of broad and regular super-curricular engagement
  • liaising with the Head of English and Senior Leadership Team to help develop and support Community Partnership opportunities
  • for appropriately qualified candidates, opportunities may exist for additional responsibilities, e.g. coaching Games, contributing to pastoral oversight

Requirements:

  • PGCE, QTS or equivalent with strong academic credentials
  • minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university
  • right to work in the UK
  • ability to teach English Literature to A-level and Oxbridge entry level
  • experience of delivering outstanding English provision in a high-performing school environment
  • resilience, drive, strength of character and sense of both humour and perspective to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding and ambitious environment
