Job Description:

The successful applicant for this role will join our talented team of 7 specialist English teachers. Jude, our wonderful Head of English, will support your growth and development, whether you are new to our profession or someone with more experience. As an English teacher, you will have the opportunity to deliver across both Key Stages, inspiring our young people to learn and love studying English! Both English and English Literature are delivered at Key Stage 4. You also will be a Learning Mentor [Tutor] to our lovely young people, spending time with them daily and supporting them to thrive in both learning and life.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent qualification
  • Relevant specialist qualifications and experience (e.g BA (Hons) in English or related degree)
  • Ability to deliver high-quality English lessons covering a range of modules and concepts
  • A good understanding of curriculum and assessment requirements for English
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning to ensure all learners progress and achieve to a high standard in preparation for examinations
  • Is an excellent classroom practitioner, committed to inclusive and engaging teaching
  • Works well as part of a collaborative faculty team
  • Brings professionalism, creativity, and a student-first mindset to their role
  • Aligns with the Oasis values of inclusion, equity, and aspiration for all
  • Can contribute to curriculum development and shared planning within the English team
  • Can be actively involved in the wider life of the school and support our inclusive, values-led ethos
