We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly effective Teacher of English and Drama to join us in the next academic year. We are looking to appoint a teacher with experience of teaching both English and Drama. The precise level of teaching in either subject can be adjusted based on the expertise of the individual, to include iGCSE level teaching in either, or both, subjects. The ability to teach English at Key Stage 3 level is essential. You will deliver engaging lessons that develop creativity, communication, critical thinking, and a passion for literature and performance. Job Responsibility:
Deliver well-planned and inspiring English and Drama lessons across Key Stage 3 and iGCSE, aligned with curriculum and whole-school academic expectations
Foster critical thinking, creativity, performance skills, and a love of literature and drama in students
Prepare students effectively for internal and external assessments, including iGCSE requirements
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress with accuracy and consistency, maintaining high academic standards
Contribute to curriculum development and the ongoing improvement of schemes of work, resources, and assessment practices
Support and collaborate with colleagues within the English and Drama Departments, promoting strong pedagogy and continual professional growth
Ensure inclusive teaching strategies that support students of all abilities, including those with diverse learning needs
Enhance the co-curricular programme through drama productions, performances, literary clubs, competitions, and enrichment opportunities
Contribute to the pastoral care of students and promote wellbeing, resilience, and a lifelong appreciation of literature and performance
Requirements:
A recognized teaching qualification and a degree in English, Drama, or a closely related discipline
Experience teaching English and Drama, ideally including Key Stage 3 and iGCSE levels
Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring students in literature, communication, and the performing arts
Outstanding organizational, communication, and classroom-management skills
A reflective, innovative mindset with a commitment to continuous professional development
Experience in an international school environment or with international curricula (highly desirable)
