Teacher of Design Technology

• Deliver engaging instruction in Design Technology aligned with the IB (MYP/DP) framework
• Plan creative, hands-on lessons that develop technical, design, and problem-solving skills
• Implement the IB design cycle and inquiry-based learning approaches
• Ensure the safe and effective use of tools, machinery, and materials
• Assess student work using IB criteria and provide constructive feedback
• Support student well-being through active participation in pastoral care
• Encourage involvement in design competitions, clubs, and maker activities
• Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
• Maintain an organised, inspiring, and safe workshop environment
• Collaborate with colleagues to share good practice and engage in professional development

• A relevant degree in Design Technology, Product Design, Engineering, or related field
• A valid teaching qualification and experience teaching within IB programmes (MYP and/or DP)
• Strong practical knowledge of workshop tools, materials, and safety procedures
• Ability to inspire creativity and innovative thinking in students
• Competence with CAD/CAM and digital design tools
• Strong differentiation skills to support diverse learners
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Commitment to continuous professional growth and reflective teaching
• Experience contributing to extra-curricular or design-related enrichment
• A strong understanding of safeguarding and student welfare
