Job Description

The International School of Como (ISC), part of the Inspired Education Group, is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Robotics & Design Teacher to join the Secondary School from August 2026. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, project-based learning in robotics, design and technology within an inquiry-led IB environment. This role suits a creative educator who is passionate about STEM education and preparing students with future-focused skills.

Job Responsibility

  • Teach Robotics and Design within the Secondary School (IB framework)
  • Plan and deliver hands-on, inquiry-based lessons
  • Develop students’ problem-solving, coding and design-thinking skills
  • Prepare students for internal and external assessments where applicable
  • Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary STEM projects
  • Contribute to extracurricular STEM initiatives and competitions
  • Uphold IB philosophy and Inspired Education values

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Design, Computer Science or related field
  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching robotics, design technology or related subjects
  • Strong knowledge of coding platforms, digital tools and prototyping
  • Excellent classroom management and collaborative skills
  • Legal right to work in Italy (EU passport or valid permit)

Nice to have

  • Experience within the IB MYP and/or DP
  • Experience in an international school setting
  • Ability to contribute to wider STEM curriculum development

  • Plans and develops an engaging, age-appropriate course of study in Robotics, CAD, or digital fabrication electives in the classroom, adhering to educational best practices and curriculum guidelines, emphasizing teamwork, leadership, and engineering design thinking
  • Guide continued development of FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) program while serving as lead mentor
  • Supervises the behavior of students in the classroom, school grounds, and educational trips, and discusses academic difficulties or behavioral problems with students as they arise
  • Mentor student leaders within the Robotics Program, support collaborative problem solving and project management, and coordinate mentors and volunteers who support the Robotics Team
  • Communicates progress and concerns with tact and professionalism to parents and, as appropriate, other faculty, staff, and/or campus Director
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with parents, students, and colleagues
  • Enforces safety and security standards for students, staff, and visitors
