A BVSD teacher demonstrates a strong knowledge of the curriculum and content area while positively impacting student achievement through innovative instructional strategies and effectively managing the learning environment.
Job Responsibility:
Facilitate learning experiences and teaches the course of study as outlined by the District approved curriculum
utilize innovative and differentiated instructional strategies to meet individual needs and motivate students
utilize a Data Driven Instruction and Inquiry (DDI) model to systematically improve student learning
create and foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
create and support a culture of equity and inclusion
understand and identify barriers in classroom instructional practices
develop positive relationships with parents/families
exhibit a growth mindset through participation in high quality professional learning
participate in reflective dialogue with colleagues
collaborate with special education, CLDE, and GT teachers
act ethically and professionally
supervise students
follow State legal requirements, negotiated agreement, and District and building policies and procedures
Requirements:
Currently hold a Colorado teaching license or have licensure application in process with appropriate endorsement in: Elementary Education
Completed and submitted BVSD on-line application
Must obtain READ Act Designation if hired for a position requiring it
Nice to have:
Knowledge of and deep belief in inclusion in the general education classroom for all students, including those on an IEP and/or learning English
