Teaching Level 2 and BTEC Level 3 programmes. We are looking for a Teacher in Mechanical Engineering – 0.8 FTE (28.8 hours) Maternity cover until July 2026.
Job Responsibility:
Planning, delivery and assessment of Mechanical engineering with experience of CAD
Teaching Level 2 and BTEC Level 3 programmes
Planning, delivering and developing teaching/learning programmes using a flexible range of strategies and learning styles
Taking responsibility for quality of teaching and related curriculum development that meet learner needs
Assessing learners progress in College or on work experience
Devising assessment processes against highly personalised progress targets
Planning, delivery and assessment of practical skills in the areas of fitting, milling and turning at Level 2 and Level 3
Requirements:
Experience in teaching CAD and mechanical engineering including maths and science
Enthusiastic, resilient and highly motivated
Literacy and Numeracy to at least Level 2
Level 3/4 qualification or relevant NVQ (or equivalent)
Level 5 Diploma (DTLLS) or equivalent within 2 years of appointment
Relevant assessment qualifications – IQA/A1/V1
Evidence of current Continuous Professional Development
Nice to have:
Level 4 Teaching Qualification: Certificate in Education/ PGCE/Bachelor of Education
