The teacher will develop and implement a program of professional vocational educational services to students in the area of Food Service Production in order to meet their assessed individual vocational needs.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and implement a program of professional vocational educational services to students in the area of Food Service Production
Teach a total of six (6) class periods each day in the Institutional Food Service Production Program which may include, but is not limited to the following: Basic Foods 1 & 2, Food Service Math, Baking, Sanitation & Safety, and Internship
Complete, in a timely manner, all required documentation, student assessment/progress and other reporting requirements
Monitor and manage student behavior, attend staffings, meetings and serve on both school and institution committees as well as serving effectively as an interdisciplinary team member for a housing center
Upon request, provide training to other staff, interns, etc. and engage in specialized instruction and special projects
Requirements:
Must possess current ServSafe Food Manager Certification at time of hire and maintain certification throughout employment
Employee will be required to obtain and maintain certification as a ServSafe Proctor
At least 3 earned credits towards an Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree
Candidates without a Bachelor’s degree will need to continue to make progress towards a Bachelor’s degree at a rate set by the department to maintain employment
At least of two years (4000 hours) of occupational experience related to food production
Experience training or teaching others skills and tasks related to food production
