A BVSD ELD teacher demonstrates a strong knowledge of language development and ways to scaffold and support instruction so that all students are able to engage in grade level curriculum and content areas. They positively impact student achievement through innovative instructional strategies and effectively managing the learning environment. The summer program will run FULL DAYS for 7 hours Monday through Thursday, from June 1st through June 25th, 2026. (There are no classes on Thursday, June 18th). PTO is not available during the summer.
Job Responsibility:
Support grade level/content area colleagues in facilitating learning experiences and teach the course of study as outlined by the District approved curriculum
Collaborate in Data Driven Instruction and Inquiry (DDI) model to systematically improve student learning
Create and foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment in which all students see themselves represented in the classroom and understand the behavioral expectations
Creates and supports a culture of equity and inclusion that values, accepts, and understands diversity and the impact of culturally and linguistically responsive practices
Understands and identifies barriers in classroom instructional practices that contribute to disproportionate outcomes for underrepresented groups of students
Develops positive relationships with parents/families
encourage parental involvement in students' education and ensure effective communication with students and parents
Exhibits a growth mindset through participation in high quality professional learning
actively participate in the evaluation process through goal setting, reflection, and development of new strategies and techniques
Participates in co-planning, co-teaching and reflective dialogue with colleagues, focused on student learning, to enhance student experiences and access to grade level curriculum
Collaborates with classroom, special education and other teachers to provide meaningful inclusion and/or extention opportunities for students
Acts ethically and professionally in personal conduct, relationships with others, decision-making, and collaboration

Assists with supervising students in the classroom, halls, recess, before/after school duty, etc.

Follow State legal requirements, negotiated agreement, and District and building policies and procedures

Requirements:
Currently hold a Colorado teaching license or have licensure application in process with the appropriate endorsement in CLDE (must upload license or in process documentation to application)
Completed and submitted BVSD online application
Nice to have:
Bilingual and Biliterate skills in Spanish/English
Knowledge of and deep belief in inclusion in the general education classroom for all students, including those on an IEP and/or learning English
