Job Description:

Role: TDBQ Migration Expert

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the end-to-end migration from Teradata, BTEQ scripts, and DMX workflows to GCP-native solutions
  • Assess and analyze existing data models, ETL pipelines, and performance bottlenecks in the legacy environment
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and optimized data pipelines using Dataflow and Airflow
  • Re-engineer legacy BTEQ scripts and DMX workflows into modern GCP equivalents
  • Develop and optimize data models in BigQuery to support business analytics and reporting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, architects, QA, and business stakeholders
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and performance throughout the migration lifecycle
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and hands-on support to the migration team
  • Manage risks, timelines, and resource allocation effectively
  • Document migration strategy, architecture decisions, and operational procedures

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering or data warehousing
  • Strong hands-on experience with Teradata, BTEQ, and DMX
  • Proven expertise in GCP, especially BigQuery, Dataflow, and Airflow
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data transformation logic
  • Experience with cloud migration strategies and performance tuning
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills

  • Partner with department contacts and external suppliers to investigate and resolve invoice, payment, and account discrepancies
  • Prepare account reconciliations and support reporting needs related to accounts payable performance and outstanding items
  • Help ensure payable operations remain compliant with company standards as well as applicable state and federal guidelines
  • Contribute to bank reconciliation and expense-related support tasks when needed, including coordination with Concur Expense processes
