Job Description:

Role: TDBQ Migration Expert

Job Responsibility:

Lead the end-to-end migration from Teradata, BTEQ scripts, and DMX workflows to GCP-native solutions
Assess and analyze existing data models, ETL pipelines, and performance bottlenecks in the legacy environment
Design and implement scalable, secure, and optimized data pipelines using Dataflow and Airflow
Re-engineer legacy BTEQ scripts and DMX workflows into modern GCP equivalents
Develop and optimize data models in BigQuery to support business analytics and reporting
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, architects, QA, and business stakeholders
Ensure data quality, integrity, and performance throughout the migration lifecycle
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and hands-on support to the migration team
Manage risks, timelines, and resource allocation effectively
Document migration strategy, architecture decisions, and operational procedures

Requirements:

10+ years of experience in data engineering or data warehousing
Strong hands-on experience with Teradata, BTEQ, and DMX
Proven expertise in GCP, especially BigQuery, Dataflow, and Airflow
Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data transformation logic
Experience with cloud migration strategies and performance tuning
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git)
Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
