Terra Verde is a joint venture between Webuild, GS Engineering & Construction (E&C) Australia, and Bouygues Construction Australia. The joint venture combines experienced local personnel with global resources and expertise. Terra Verde is delivering nearly 10 kilometres of parallel tunnels between Glen Waverley and Box Hill, including 39 cross passages and two station boxes at Glen Waverley and Burwood in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, as part of the Suburban Rail Loop Project. This is the largest infrastructure project in Victoria’s history, shaping Melbourne and Victoria for future generations. To support the delivery of Terra Verde, we are seeking experienced TBM Supervisors to join our team. Reporting to the TBM Superintendent, you will play a key role in leading and coordinating day-to-day Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role is suited to experienced tunnelling and underground construction professionals who enjoy leading teams in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment. You will work closely with site crews, engineers, and subcontractors to achieve production targets while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and environmental performance. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to one of Australia's most significant tunnelling projects while working alongside industry-leading experts from around the world. This role will support a 24/7 tunnelling operation and will work across a rotating roster, including day and night shifts. Candidates must be flexible and comfortable working within a shift-based environment to support the safe and efficient delivery of TBM operations.
Job Responsibility
Supervise daily TBM operations and associated tunnelling activities
Coordinate site crews, subcontractors, and plant resources to support planned works
Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with project procedures and legislative requirements
Monitor production performance and support the achievement of project milestones and targets
Identify, manage, and escalate site risks, issues, and improvement opportunities
Support the implementation of short-term work plans and construction schedules
Maintain high standards of quality and environmental performance across all activities
Provide visible leadership on site and foster a positive, collaborative team culture
Assist with reporting, planning, and coordination activities alongside Superintendents and Engineers
Requirements
Previous experience in tunnelling, TBM operations, underground construction, or major infrastructure projects
Demonstrated experience in a supervisory, leading hand, or crew leadership role
Experience coordinating crews, subcontractors, and shift-based construction activities
Strong commitment to health, safety, quality, and environmental performance
Ability to interpret construction drawings, plans, and technical documentation
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Proven ability to lead teams and drive outcomes in a high-risk operational environment
Relevant construction industry qualifications, licences, and tickets
