Job Description

A leading law firm is seeking to appoint a Trust & Tax Manager to join its expanding Private Wealth team in Manchester city centre. This is a fantastic opportunity for a private client specialist ready to progress their career in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage a varied portfolio of trust and estate matters, including tax planning and compliance
  • Prepare trust accounts, tax returns, and inheritance tax forms, liaising with HMRC as required
  • Attend and minute trustee meetings, oversee trust distributions, and provide clear advice on trust deeds and investment policy statements
  • Maintain regular communication with clients and colleagues, contributing to billing and reporting
  • Mentor junior staff and share technical knowledge to support team growth

Requirements

  • Proven experience in private client work, with a focus on trusts and estate administration
  • Confident managing client relationships and working within a team
  • Excellent attention to detail and sound judgment, with a calm, methodical approach
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Familiarity with tax software such as CCH is advantageous but not essential
  • STEP qualification or equivalent professional tax accreditation preferred
  • equivalent practical experience will also be highly valued
