Job Description:

As a Tax & Treasury Staff Accountant with BAE Systems Intelligence & Security (I&S) sector you will be responsible for handling all intercompany transactions, accounting, confirmations and reconciliations; recording intercompany journal entries to clear intercompany transactions; ensuring intercompany accounting policies, processes and operating procedures are clearly defined in line with company policies, are up to date and documented; obtaining necessary approvals of all intercompany transactions as per company guidelines in a timely manner; monitoring pending intercompany requests (either sending or receiving) and providing status updates to parties who will need to action such requests; ensuring timely expense recognition (on both sides) for year-end intercompany related accruals; assisting Tax & Treasury team with treasury-related activities such as bank account reconciliations, wires, daily cash reporting, hedging, etc.; assisting Tax & Treasury team with tax-related activities such as filing of sales and use tax, property tax, real estate returns and payments; and working on any special projects as assigned in support of areas across the sector Finance organization.

Job Responsibility:

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree and two years accounting work experience or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • Demonstrated understanding of accounting principles and processes
  • Proven ability to apply strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Team oriented and ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to drive tasks to conclusion with appropriate follow through and effective issue resolution
  • Willingness and initiative to take on ad hoc projects and identify areas for improvement
