We are looking for a dedicated Tax Staff member with strong attention to detail to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will focus on tax consulting and preparation duties for corporations and partnerships, particularly those with international filing requirements. You will collaborate with clients, managers, and partners to deliver high-quality tax solutions while developing your expertise in a dynamic environment.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct detailed tax research to address complex tax issues and provide recommendations
Prepare corporate income tax returns, partnership returns, and foreign component filings, including Forms 1120, 1120F, 1120S, 1065, 5471, and 5472
Handle withholding tax returns, such as Form 1042, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Respond to inquiries and correspondence from tax authorities, providing clear and timely resolutions
Collaborate with senior team members on tax audits, due diligence projects, and other tax-related assignments
Review and analyze data inputs, identifying discrepancies and ensuring technical compliance
Offer guidance and mentorship to entry-level staff, supporting their growth and development
Build strong relationships with clients through effective communication and responsive service
Manage tax planning and related projects from inception to completion, ensuring deadlines are met
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting
Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 in major and overall coursework
Actively pursuing CPA and/or EA certification
Willingness to work extended hours and travel to client locations as required
Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency in corporate tax returns and multi-state filings
Familiarity with foreign tax filings, such as Forms 5471 and 5472
Nice to have:
Experience in tax research, audits, and due diligence for mergers and acquisitions is preferred
