We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Tax Staff team member to join our team in Santa Barbara, California. In this role, you will handle a variety of tax-related tasks, including preparing returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts. You will also provide accounting support and collaborate with clients to ensure compliance and accuracy in their financial matters.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts with precision and attention to detail
Ensure all tax filings comply with current regulations and are submitted accurately and on time
Perform accounting tasks such as adjusting journal entries and maintaining financial records
Utilize software tools like QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, and Sage to manage client accounts
Analyze client financial documents, identifying and addressing discrepancies when necessary
Organize and maintain thorough workpapers to support internal reviews and audits
Respond to client inquiries and provide documentation support as needed
Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality tax solutions to small businesses and high-net-worth individuals
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal income tax preparation
Proficiency in QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, and Sage software
Demonstrated expertise in working with small businesses and high-net-worth clients
Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
CPA or EA designation required
Nice to have:
Familiarity with CCH Axcess Suite or similar tax software is advantageous
Knowledge of real estate tax and trust tax preparation is a plus
Excellent communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration
