Job Description

We are looking for a Tax Staff role requiring strong attention to detail to support corporate accounting and tax activities for a multi-entity environment in Ohio. This role will contribute to accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, and year-end close efforts while helping strengthen internal processes. The ideal candidate brings a solid accounting foundation, hands-on reconciliation experience, and familiarity with corporate and indirect tax responsibilities.

Job Responsibility

  • Reconcile bank activity for multiple corporate entities and investigate discrepancies to maintain accurate cash records
  • Coordinate the preparation and payment of indirect tax obligations, including sales and use tax, in accordance with filing deadlines
  • Support real estate tax compliance across multiple states by organizing required information and helping ensure timely submissions
  • Maintain and review accrual-based, tax-basis, and book-basis financial records to support reporting accuracy
  • Examine construction-in-progress and capital improvement activity to assist with cost segregation analysis and personal property tax reporting
  • Prepare year-end financial information for real estate holding companies and contribute to a smooth closing process
  • Post journal entries and assist with period-end and year-end close activities to keep accounting records complete and accurate
  • Compare tax filings against general ledger balances and resolve variances to improve consistency in reporting
  • Create and refine accounting and tax documentation, while supporting process improvements, automation efforts, and other special projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 2–3 years of accounting experience
  • Exposure to tax-related accounting responsibilities, preferably in a corporate environment
  • Working knowledge of corporate income tax and corporate tax compliance practices
  • Familiarity with sales and use tax processes and related reporting requirements
  • Experience performing bank reconciliations and supporting year-end close activities
  • Ability to analyze financial data, prepare journal entries, and maintain accurate records across multiple entities
