Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Tax Staff member to join our team just SW of College Station, Texas. This role is ideal for individuals with a solid understanding of corporate tax compliance and income tax provisions, who are ready to contribute to a dynamic organization. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate tax reporting and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and review corporate income tax returns and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
  • Analyze financial data to calculate accurate annual income tax provisions
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address tax-related inquiries and provide guidance
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure organizational compliance
  • Support audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities
  • Maintain detailed and organized tax records for reporting and auditing purposes
  • Participate in tax planning initiatives to optimize corporate tax strategies
  • Ensure timely submission of all required tax filings and documentation

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in corporate tax-related roles
  • Proficiency in corporate income tax preparation and compliance
  • Knowledge of annual income tax provision processes
  • Experience with sales and use tax regulations and filings
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in financial data
  • Ability to interpret and stay updated on tax laws and regulations
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred

  • Assist with monthly and quarterly tax account close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Address notices and inquiries from federal and state revenue agencies
  • Maintain and update the corporate tax calendar and return log to ensure timely compliance
  • Conduct tax research and planning related to federal and state income taxes
  • Document and test internal controls in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
