Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Tax/Staff Accountant to join our team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This role emphasizes building strong relationships with clients while delivering high-quality tax preparation and compliance services. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and have a passion for helping clients achieve their financial goals.

Job Responsibility:

  • Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide consultative support
  • Prepare and review individual and business tax returns, including 1040s, K-1s, trusts, S-Corps, and real estate/investment tax filings
  • Assist with onboarding processes by handling backend tax work and supporting financial clean-up
  • Gain exposure to payroll functions, schedules, and forms as part of expanded responsibilities
  • Perform reconciliations and other accounting tasks to support financial accuracy
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to foster trust and long-term collaboration
  • Manage assigned accounts over time, ensuring compliance and overseeing financial processes
  • Provide accurate and timely tax compliance services while adhering to regulations and standards

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in preparing individual and corporate tax returns
  • Proficiency in tax preparation software such as CCH ProSystem Fx
  • Solid understanding of tax regulations and compliance standards
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with clients
  • Ability to perform reconciliations and basic accounting tasks
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Experience with trusts, S-Corps, and real estate tax is a plus
  • Capability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment
