Job Description:

As a Tax Specialist at BMW Group Plant Debrecen, you play a crucial part in managing the organization’s tax-related topics.

Job Responsibility:

  • Participate in direct and indirect tax calculations and reporting processes, ensuring adherence to Hungarian tax laws, statutory, fiscal regulations, and BMW Group corporate policies
  • Manage end-to-end indirect tax compliance including preparation and review of VAT and other indirect tax returns such as sales listings and Intrastat reporting, leveraging the SAP ERP system
  • Provide expert tax advice and hands-on support in developing and implementing IT systems and processes to maintain tax compliance, particularly for indirect taxes
  • Monitor updates and changes in tax regulations and legislation, assessing their impact on BMW Group, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve tax-related issues
  • Contribute to the development and execution of tax initiatives aimed at optimizing the organization’s overall tax position
  • Support the creation of relevant tax standards and guidelines, ensuring proper documentation and timely updates

Requirements:

  • University degree in Economics
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in a similar role within an international company or in a tax advisory environment
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English and Hungarian
  • Strong professional knowledge of Hungarian tax legislation, with a focus on VAT and Corporate Income Tax (CIT)
  • Confident user of MS Office, especially Excel
  • Strong communication skills with an independent, reliable, and result-oriented working style

Nice to have:

  • Tax Advisor Certification Registration and/or Tax Expert qualification
  • Manufacturing background
  • German language skills
  • Experience with Wage Tax and Benefit in Kind Taxation
  • Experience with SAP FI module
  • Knowledge of S/4 HANA
