For this new role, we are seeking a VAT Compliance Senior Manager to establish and lead a Center of Excellence (CoE) focused on VAT compliance across multiple regions. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of indirect tax operations, driving compliance efficiency, and implementing cutting-edge technology solutions such as automation software and tax engines. The successful candidate will be a strong team player with a passion for technology, automation, and process excellence, and will play a key role in building scalable VAT compliance processes to support global business growth.
Job Responsibility:
Build, develop, and manage a centralized VAT compliance function serving multiple regions
Establish best practices, policies, and frameworks for VAT reporting, filings, and reconciliations
Partner with regional finance and tax to ensure local compliance requirements are met consistently
Lead the implementation of automation tools and maintenance of an indirect tax engine to streamline VAT compliance processes
Drive process improvements
Collaborate with IT and external vendors to design, test, and deploy tax technology solutions
Ensure accurate and timely VAT filings and reporting in line with global and regional regulations
Monitor regulatory changes and assess impact on compliance processes
Proactively manage risks and establish strong internal controls
Act as a trusted advisor to tax, finance, and business partners on VAT compliance matters
Provide leadership, training, and guidance to team members to foster continuous learning

Requirements:
Doctorate degree and 6 years of tax experience
Master’s degree and 8 years of tax experience
Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of tax experience
Academic degree or equivalent diploma in Accounting / Finance, Tax Law or Tax Economics
A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in a VAT advisory role with an emphasis on supply chain/manufacturing within the Big Four accounting firms or within a financial/tax department of a large multi-national company
Experience of EU VAT alongside a working knowledge of cross-border VAT/GST outside of EU is required
Demonstrated capability to learn quickly, being open and flexible to changes, in a multi-national environment
High level of analytical skills and attention to detail
Pro-activeness in approach to problem solving and technical research
Strong interpersonal skills, team player, and highly customer focused
Strong computer skills with emphasis on SAP
Experience in VAT and GST within an international VAT compliance team
Experience in Pharmaceutical Industry
Master degree in Business Taxation or equivalent
High level in local language or any other major language
