Job Description

We are a full-service public accounting and advisory firm serving middle-market businesses and their owners. Our approach is personal, proactive, and rooted in helping clients achieve lasting success. We are seeking a Tax Senior Manager who can lead engagements, guide our teams, and deliver high-quality results while managing both onshore and offshore resources. As a Tax Senior Manager, you will oversee the delivery of tax compliance and consulting services to a diverse client base. You will lead multiple engagement teams, manage client relationships, and play a key role in integrating and managing offshore team members to support firm growth and efficiency. This role combines technical expertise, leadership, and a collaborative mindset suited for a dynamic middle-market environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and review complex business, individual, and trust tax engagements for a diverse client portfolio
  • Manage workflows between domestic and offshore teams to ensure quality, consistency, and timely delivery
  • Train and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative environment and promoting professional development
  • Review tax returns and related workpapers, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws
  • Provide clients with proactive tax planning, research, and consulting on key business decisions
  • Partner with firm leadership on client service initiatives, process improvement, and staff development
  • Manage engagement economics — including budgets, billing, and profitability — while ensuring exceptional client service
  • Identify and develop opportunities for additional client services and contribute to business development efforts

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required
  • master's in taxation preferred
  • Active CPA license required
  • 7–10 years of progressive public accounting tax experience, including 2+ years in a management or supervisory role
  • Demonstrated experience managing offshore tax preparation teams or coordinating with global service centers
  • Strong technical knowledge in business and individual taxation, including multi-state experience
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Nice to have

  • Middle-market or regional firm background with exposure to closely held businesses
  • Proficiency in CCH Axcess, UltraTax, or similar tax software
  • Familiarity with offshore workflow management tools and collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Asana)

What we offer

  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package
  • Flexible work environment with hybrid and remote options
  • Collaborative firm culture focused on relationships, innovation, and professional growth
  • Opportunity to shape processes and mentor the next generation of tax professionals
