The Tax Sr. Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information.
Job Responsibility:
Responsible for the overall management of the tax liabilities of Citi
Contributes to the planning, accounting, filing and the reporting of tax liability
Assists in determining and compiling information required to satisfy income tax filing
May participate in managing payments to tax authorities
Resolves complex problems or transactions
Manages one or more processes, reports, procedures or products
Directs day-to-day work of junior level employees
Perform other duties and functions as assigned
Acts as SME to senior stakeholders
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made
Responsible for in-scope processes related to multiple Citi lines of business within the centralized Tax Information Reporting function
Support compliance with regulatory risk through accurate reporting
Migrate information reporting work from various sub-units
Provide tax technical guidance
Manage IRS Reporting processes such as 1042, 1042s & 1099
Review and coordinate queries received from IRS
Enhance Tax Information Reporting capabilities
Ensure strong controls
Act as a tax / information reporting specialist
Execute tax information reporting processes
Migration of work into centralized hub
Develop processes and implement procedures
Ensure adherence to KPI’s and KRI’s
Support process improvements
Act as a Tax information Reporting specialist managing IRS Reporting for LATAM Custody business
Ensure annual completion of the 1042-s & 1099 Regulatory Reporting
Responsible for Income reconciliations
Point of contact for US IRS Reporting queries
Liaising with internal and external parties
Provide support with IRS and Internal Audits
Build and maintain relationships
Keep up to date with regulatory changes
Develop best practices
Identify and participate in process re-engineering
Contribute to adherence to regulatory requirements
Support Technology projects
Perform reviews of written tax policy and procedures
Requirements:
5-8+ years of relevant experience
Bachelors degree
In-depth disciplinary knowledge
Good analytical skills
Strong communication and diplomacy skills
Ability to filter, prioritize and validate complex material
Experience in coaching and training
Ability to operate with limited direct supervision
