Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Tax Senior Accountant to join our team in Weston, Florida. This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about assisting clients with their tax compliance needs, preparing and reviewing tax returns, and offering guidance to small business owners. The position offers a collaborative work environment and exposure to diverse tax engagements.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and review various types of tax returns, including individual returns (1040), trust returns (1041), and S-Corporation filings
  • Conduct in-depth tax research and apply current tax laws to client-specific scenarios
  • Create and maintain fixed asset schedules while calculating depreciation
  • Perform year-end accounting tasks and write-up work for small business clients
  • Review financial records and prepare adjusting journal entries as needed
  • Assist in tax planning and compliance efforts for both individual and business clients
  • Communicate with clients to gather essential financial information and address inquiries
  • Manage deadlines effectively to ensure timely completion of tasks, especially during busy tax seasons

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in preparing and reviewing tax returns within a public accounting environment
  • Strong knowledge of tax regulations and ability to perform tax research
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks for client accounting tasks
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Thomson Reuters software, including UltraTax, is preferred
  • Experience working with trust returns (1041) and pass-through entities is highly desirable
