Job Description

We are looking for a Tax Reporting Specialist III to support tax reporting, compliance activities, and financial analysis for a long-term remote contract position based in Cleveland, OH. In this role, you will manage complex reporting, validate data from multiple sources, and help ensure filings and related records are accurate and completed on schedule. This opportunity is well suited for someone who works independently, communicates issues proactively, and is comfortable contributing to month-end and year-end reporting activities.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare, maintain, and evaluate detailed tax and compliance reports to support accurate filings and periodic reporting obligations
  • Examine financial information for tax-related analysis, including support for deposits, reconciliations, and return preparation activities
  • Gather information from various internal sources and confirm completeness and accuracy before it is used in reporting or submission processes
  • Identify discrepancies, research underlying issues, and escalate concerns to management when exceptions or risks are discovered
  • Take a lead role in year-end reporting tasks and assist with monthly journal entry preparation as assigned
  • Review foundational tax return work completed by other team members and provide guidance to support accuracy and consistency
  • Maintain clear correspondence and documentation related to tax reporting matters and compliance requests
  • Work within assigned scheduling expectations, including flexibility for evenings, weekends, or holidays when business demands require additional support

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or higher education credential with at least 5 years of experience in financial reporting or related tax reporting work
  • Must have experience in ADP Master Tax
  • Strong working knowledge of tax reporting, financial analysis, and compliance documentation practices
  • Advanced attention to detail with the ability to produce and review reports for accuracy, quality, and completeness
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently, organize multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a reporting-focused environment
  • Experience reviewing data from different sources and resolving inconsistencies through research and follow-up
