Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This contract position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment with a focus on providing accurate and efficient tax services. The role involves working closely with knowledgeable staff and a diverse clientele to ensure compliance and deliver high-quality tax preparation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare individual, corporate, and small business tax returns with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Review complex tax documents and ensure compliance with current regulations
  • Collaborate with entry level staff to oversee and guide their work, providing mentorship as needed
  • Utilize Drake and QuickBooks software to manage tax preparation and bookkeeping tasks
  • Analyze financial statements to identify tax deductions and optimize returns for clients
  • Handle a diverse client base, including small businesses and experienced clients, with professionalism
  • Ensure timely completion of approximately 1,000 tax returns annually across various client profiles
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and policies to provide reliable guidance
  • Work on-site during standard office hours to deliver consistent and dependable service
  • Assist in the transition process, providing expertise and continuity during organizational changes

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in preparing individual and corporate tax returns
  • Proficiency in Drake Tax Software and QuickBooks (desktop and online)
  • Strong ability to review and analyze financial statements
  • Knowledge of tax laws and regulations applicable to small businesses and corporations
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with entry-level staff and clients
  • Familiarity with complex tax scenarios, including S-Corps and consolidated returns
  • Availability to work on-site during standard business hours
