Job Description:

This is a rare opportunity for a Tax Partner / Head of Tax to join a modern, ambitious professional services group in Birmingham. The role is fundamentally about leadership, coordination and growth — supporting an experienced specialist tax team spread across the UK, setting direction, and increasing revenue through both internal collaboration and external business development. You’ll work closely with senior advisory leaders to expand the firm’s tax footprint, strengthen cross-service proposition delivery, and support clients at the highest level.

Job Responsibility:

Owning and delivering the overall tax strategy in line with the firm’s growth objectives
Coordinating and supporting a specialist tax team across multiple locations (without day-to-day line management responsibility)
Driving revenue growth through internal collaboration and external business development
Working closely with restructuring and wider advisory teams to deliver joined-up, multi-disciplinary solutions for clients
Identifying new ways to support clients and colleagues with tax-led and advisory-led services
Shaping resourcing, structure and future evolution of the tax offering
Championing technical excellence, best practice and knowledge-sharing within the tax team
Acting as a senior adviser on complex corporate and transactional tax matters
Representing the tax function within the leadership group and in external networks, events and markets
Supporting Partners and senior managers with tax strategy, pricing, risk and commercial decisions

Requirements:

Be CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
Have extensive senior-level experience in tax within an accountancy or professional services environment
Bring strong advisory experience across corporate and/or mixed tax
Have a proven track record of winning work, growing revenue and developing client relationships
Be comfortable working alongside other senior advisory leaders to deliver integrated client solutions
Have experience shaping or leading a tax function, service line or specialist team
Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at senior level
Be strategic, proactive and commercially focused, with a desire to build something long-term
