abip CPAs & Advisors is seeking an experienced Tax Partner to join our growing San Antonio office. This leadership role is ideal for a relationship-driven tax professional with strong technical expertise, proven leadership capabilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional client service to privately held businesses and high-net-worth individuals.

Job Responsibility

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business and individual clients on complex tax matters
  • Manage and expand client relationships through proactive communication and strategic guidance
  • Review and oversee complex tax returns including corporate, partnership, S-corporation, and individual returns
  • Provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance services across a variety of industries
  • Lead, mentor, and develop tax professionals across multiple levels
  • Participate in Firm leadership initiatives, operational planning, and practice development
  • Identify and pursue business development opportunities, including networking and referral generation
  • Ensure engagement quality, profitability, and adherence to professional standards
  • Stay current on federal, state, and local tax regulations and communicate implications to clients and internal teams

Requirements

  • 12–20 years of progressive tax and public accounting experience
  • Current or recent experience as a Tax Partner, Tax Director, Tax Principal, or Senior Tax Manager ready for Partner-level advancement
  • Experience within a mid-sized public accounting firm environment
  • Demonstrated leadership within a tax practice
  • Strong experience managing complex client relationships
  • Proven business development and networking abilities
  • Active CPA license required
  • Extensive public accounting background required
  • Partner/Director-level experience or readiness for Partner promotion
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills

Nice to have

  • Master's in taxation or LLM in Taxation
  • Additional credentials such as JD or CFP
  • Existing book of business or demonstrated business development success
  • Existing Texas market relationships or familiarity with the Texas business landscape
  • Multi-state tax experience preferred
  • Industry specialization experience in real estate, manufacturing, healthcare, professional services, or construction
